Selangor FC Drawn into Group H for the AFC Champions League Two (ACL2)

One month before the commencement of the AFC Champions League TWO (ACL2), Selangor FC has been drawn into Group H of the tournament following the conclusion of the Group Stage draw held in Kuala Lumpur this evening.

Drawn in Group H, Selangor FC will face strong competition from South Korea’s Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors; Thailand’s Muangthong United; and the Philippines' Dynamic Herb Cebu. The group stage matches are set to begin on the 17th of September.

Dr. Johan Kamal Hamidon, Chief Executive Officer of SFC, shared his enthusiasm and remarked that all teams have equal opportunities as each possesses unique qualities.

"We are thrilled to return to the Asian competition. It is undoubtedly a challenging task for Selangor, given the strengths and qualities of each team. Every match will be difficult, thus we must focus on taking it one match at a time with the aim of advancing to the knockout stages," he stated.

The Red Giants secured an automatic slot to the AFC Champions League 2 (ACL2) after finishing as runners-up in the Super League last season. This will be Selangor FC’s first appearance on the Asian stage since 2016 when they competed in the AFC Cup 2016.
